This committee works to strengthen LGTBQ Studies-and its networks-within the CUNY community. They help coordinate the annual Queer CUNY Conference, facilitate the qcuny listserv, which now has over 130 members, and work to maintain the growth of LGTBQ Studies, both at the Graduate Center with its Interdisciplinary Concentration in Lesbian and Gay/Queer Studies and with other programs and student groups on the many campuses. This committee also helps to publicize CUNY student awards in the field and, recently, has undertaken a fundraising campaign to build university-wide fellowship resources for the students.

CLAGS's Development Committee plans and oversees all fundraising activities for the organization including: membership, direct mail, special events, and grants. The Development Committee is made up of CLAGS board members and community members with strong interest and experience in fundraising. The committee meets monthly to plan events, monitor budgets and cultivate prospective donors.

The Executive Committee, comprised of the chairs of all standing committees, two ad hoc members, the Executive Director, the Chair of the Board, and a student representative creates and reviews policy for the organization, which it then brings to the board for refinement and approval. The committee serves as an important forum for liaison among all CLAGS' working committees. The committee also charged with filling staff positions, setting salary levels, and approving the annual operating budget.

The Fellowships Committee is responsible for publicizing and administering CLAGS major grants and awards, including the Martin Duberman Fellowship, the Heller-Bernard Fellowship, the Sylvia Rivera Fellowship and the Passing-the-Torch award.

In addition, at the end of each academic year, the committee makes an award of $1000 to the best CUNY dissertation in LGTBQ studies broadly defined, and two awards of $250 to CUNY graduate and undergraduate students who have written outstanding research papers related to GLTBQ studies. Finally, the committee makes small grants of up to $250 to students at the CUNY Graduate Center to support their research in gay and lesbian studies, or further their professional development through presentations at national conferences.

The Nominations Committee is responsible for identifying and soliciting the names of qualified individuals for board membership. Names of potential members are then brought before the entire board for consideration and, if accepted, are voted in. The Nominations Committee is also responsible for organizing an orientation session for new board members.

OutHistory.org is a freely accessible, community created, non-profit website on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and, yes, heterosexual history. The Committee will support OutHistory's programming.
