All students enrolled in the DPT program will be assigned an advisor. Students will also select a research advisor based upon their selection of a project to satisfy the research requirement. The Program Director (at Hunter College) serves as the general advisor for registration. Since the curriculum is a block design, students will be taking courses together with the cohort of students admitted during the same academic year.
A new student orientation session is held during the semester prior to the start of each program. During this session, student handbooks will be distributed, and detailed information about all aspects of the program, resources, facilities, and student responsibilities will be made available. Each semester, the faculty and Physical Therapy Co-Director on each campus will meet to review student progress toward completion of graduate degree and to discuss remediation measures, when appropriate. During the final semester, the Co-Director will distribute a graduation audit form for completion by the students. The completed form will be reviewed by the Co-Director.
