Area of concentration
Research
interests include 20th century Greek, Italian, and English literatures,
particularly British and American readings of the Mediterranean.
Couses taught
I am currently teaching in the English Department at Queens College.
The courses I have taught include Composition, Introduction to Literary
Studies, British survey courses from the
Romantics to the Moderns, and 20th Century Global literatures in English.
My most recent interest is in Unsworth, Durrell, and Bowles, as Anglo
writers that have used the Mediterranean landscape in their fiction.
Of particular relevance to such works are notions of ethnicity and
nationalism. Following this line of thinking, I am interested in theories
of material culture, historicism, and colonialism.
