Lori Yamato received her BA from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at NYU and her MA in Comparative Literature from the Graduate Center (CUNY).
She is currently teaching in the Comparative Literature department at Queens College (Great Books I and II, Romanticism). She has also worked in classical music publishing, education, and administration. Research and teaching interests include: philosophy and literature (particularly Kierkegaard and Nietzsche); Enlightenment and Romanticism; opera and song cycle; tragedy; Orpheuses and Anti-Orpheuses; emblems, fables, and parables.
