Simona Mammana is a Ph.D. student in the Comparative Literature Department of Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), with an Italian Specialization. There, she is also a Chancellorís Fellow, enrolled in the Renaissance Studies Certificate Program. Since Sept. 2005 she has
been teaching Italian 101, 102 and 202 at Hunter College-CUNY. Her specific research interests are Italian Renaissance poetry, epic poems, visual arts, philology and history of printing. In 2004 she earned her Ph.D. in Italian Studies at the University of Florence (Italy).
