V. The "En route" M.A. Upon completing 45 credits with an average grade of B, passing the First Examination, and submitting a major research paper to the Executive Officer or Deputy Executive Officer, which may already have been handed in and graded as satisfactory in a graduate course, a doctoral student may apply for an en-route M.A. degree. Those seeking this degree should have the Executive Officer initiate the appropriate action.
The research paper to be submitted for the en-route master's degree should be twenty pages or more in length, be on a comparative topic, and have been done in conjunction with a course in the Comparative Literature Program. The paper will be submitted to a second reader for a concurring opinion.
