The English Program faculty is made up of almost sixty distinguished scholars and teachers, some appointed solely at the Graduate Center, but most also teaching at one of the CUNY undergraduate campuses. For their specializations, research interests, and contact information, see the following list of Program faculty.

The ESA represents the students' interests to the English Program, hosts a listserv, and runs elections for student representatives to all Program committees. The annual ESA Conference is one of the highlights of the academic year.

Faculty/student committees are involved in every aspect of the Program's operations.

Students and faculty are actively involved in teaching and research.

Students and faculty participate in a wide range of interdisciplinary interest groups.

Our students find jobs at a diverse set of academic institutions, as well as outside academia. Alumni are active teachers, writers, scholars, and administrators.

For information particularly relevant for those interested in applying for admission to the Ph.D. Program in English, see our Prospective Students page.
