Courses
As a part of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, the EUSC is
well-positioned to promote the interdisciplinary study of the European Union within the
University including its 22 affiliated colleges.
The concentration in European Union Studies is an interdisciplinary program open to students who are fully matriculated in Ph.D. programs at the GSUC. It is designed mainly for students pursuing doctorates in the Humanities (History and European Languages), and the Social Sciences (Political Science, Economics, Business and Sociology). Professor Christa Altenstetter (Political Science) and Professor Hugo M. Kaufmann (Economics) are the Co-Directors of the Concentration and teach the two required core courses.
