A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE FILM LINKS

Researching or just plain curious about some arcane filmic fact? Try the Internet Movie Database, which will tell you almost everything you need to know about a film, its cast, crew, distributor, technical data. You can even cast votes for your favorite -- and least favorite-- films here.

There is also the American Film Institute and Sundance. For information on events both here and abroad try the Film Festival website. For the "independent voice of film criticism on the Internet," visit Film.com. A scholarly site that also offers job listings is found at the Society for Cinema & Media Studies.

For reviews, here are two popular places to visit: the Movie Review Query Engine has over 230,000 reviews of more than 26,000 films, and Rotten Tomatoes gives the good -- and the bad -- word on many films.

For a massive amount of film links from home and abroad, try our very own GC Library's Film Studies and Popular Culture links
