The City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism is seeking a journalist who is committed to teaching and pursuing multimedia/interactive storytelling that also involves collaborative efforts with the audience.

The School’s interactive program, headed by Prof. Jeff Jarvis, is searching for a practitioner at the highest professional levels who also has a deep understanding of how new tools and techniques are changing the definition of journalism and how it must be practiced.

Specifically, successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain an active portfolio of innovative journalism projects; provide strong mentoring of students; bring enthusiasm and strong pedagogy to teaching; and participate actively in public and professional service.

We seek a journalist with strong ties to the professional community - locally, nationally, and internationally.

The CUNY Graduate School of Journalism is the only publicly supported graduate school of journalism in the Northeast. Its mission is to provide an affordable, top-notch education in the profession as we strive to help give journalism the ethnic, racial and economic diversity it needs to accurately reflect the population it serves.

The School’s 18-month master of arts program instills in students the traditional skills, standards and verities of journalism, while training them in the multimedia tools and innovative forms of storytelling that will get them jobs and help them reinvent and seize new opportunities for journalism.
