Department: Health Sciences Doctoral Programs - Doctor of Public Health (DPH) Program

 

Description:

Working under the aegis of the Health Sciences Doctoral Programs (HSDP), the Doctor of Public Health (DPH) Program currently consists of 44 students and 36 faculty members.

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Affiliation Agreements and Campus Liaison, and also the Assistant Program Officer, the DPH College Assistant’s duties will consist of, but not be limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining contact lists for potential applicants to the DPH Program

  • Assisting in all accreditation processes for the DPH Program
  • Preparing documents for meetings

  • Maintaining all DPH Blackboard Sites

  • DPH First examination: Secretarial assistance, scheduling, proctoring, and preparation and submission of outcome letters

  • DPH Second Examination: Secretarial assistance, scheduling, and preparation and submission of outcome letters

  • Room reservations and audio-video set-up requests for courses, meetings, and events

  • Assisting with DPH events

  • Recording minutes of DPH faculty meetings

  • Soliciting office hours from DPH faculty and instructors

  • Assisting with DPH course scheduling and registration

  • Maintaining files of DPH syllabi and faculty evaluations

  • DPH student files: Developing student file folders and populating the folders with the appropriate forms

  • General office assistance: filing, copying, faxing, mailing, phone coverage, etc.
  • Liaison with the HSDP Executive Officer and the Director of the DPH Program

  • Assist in preparation of DPH budgets and recording of expenditures

  • Secretarial assistance with admissions, registrar, and other GC offices

  • Maintaining records of DPH Committee agenda and minutes

  • Administrative support for the DPH Track Coordinators and Deputy Executive Officer

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree preferred; Baccalaureate Degree highly desired

  • Minimum of two years work experience in a professional office

  • Experience in CUNY desirable

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word; knowledge of other Microsoft programs a plus

  • Good writing skills

  • Good typing skills

  • Flexibility in work schedule

  • Ability to adjust to changing work priorities

  • Professional attitude, punctuality, and ability to work well with others

Salary Range: $12.00

Hours: 20 Hours per week
