Department: Ph.D. Program in Philosophy

Description:

The Graduate School and University Center, located in Midtown Manhattan, is a unit of The City University of New York, the nation’s largest public urban university. Some 4000 students are enrolled in 32 doctoral programs and 7 master’s programs. The Ph.D. program in Philosophy anticipates a vacancy for a tenured Full Professor, to begin September 2008.

Duties include graduate teaching, research, departmental service, and advising students (including supervision of doctoral dissertations).

Qualifications:

Earned doctorate required. Record of significant academic publications and achievement; established scholarly reputation; experience teaching and supervising graduate students also required.

A candidate of substantial merit, accomplishment, and scholarly reputation in the field may be nominated as a Distinguished Professor with an annual supplement.

Salary Range:

- Commensurate with qualification and experience.

- FLSA Status - Exempt (not eligible for over time compensation)
