Graduate Assistant Orientation

In order to proceed with your Graduate Assistant appointment, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Please submit your signed copy of the letter at the front desk in the Office of Human Resources (Room 8403).
  2. You must attend an orientation provided by our office in order to proceed with your appointment and payroll processing.  Please register for the orientation via online at:    http://web.gc.cuny.edu/HumanResources/orientappl/index.cfm
  3. *Your Graduate Center student identification number is required for this registration.

  4. You must also complete an employment package and bring it with you to the orientation. The employment package is available in our website at: http://web.gc.cuny.edu/HumanResources/forms/forms_new.htm#grad-a 
  5. (It is expected that you will have questions regarding some forms and other matters, which will be addressed at the orientation).  Printed employment packages are available in the Office of Human Resources (Room 8403) for your convenience.

  6. Please bring the following documents to the orientation:
    1. Completed employment package. (Forms)
    2. Employment Eligibility documents. (See reverse side for the list of acceptable employment eligibility documents)
    3. Original Social Security Card.  
    4. International Students: You must bring your I-20, passport, I-94 card and the student status form.
    5. If you do not have a social security card, you may apply for a new card via online at:  http://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber              
    6. Direct deposit: Please note that if you have a joint account and you wish to enroll in direct deposit, the form must have signatures of both parties.  (Voided check is required if it is not signed by the bank).
