Papers
Subject matter: Ideally, your paper will
relate to one of the 12 areas of concentration in the MALS Program:
American Studies; Approaches to Modernity; Bioethics, Science and
Society; Biography, Autobiography and Memoir (new); Film Studies;
International Studies; Landmarks of Western Thought; Latin American,
Caribbean and Latino Studies; Urban Education; and Women’s Studies.
Style: intelligent, lively, original, unpublished and not so academic
that it excludes non-specialist readers. We follow the Chicago Manual of Style. Length: no more than 3000 words—about 12 pages double-spaced. Send to pipapers@gc.cuny.edu. Writers will be paid $50 upon acceptance.
Notes
Any idea with contemporary relevance to
which you have not given in-depth consideration but is interesting
nevertheless. Style: see above. Length: not to exceed 1200 words. Send
to pinotes@gc.cuny.edu. Writers will be paid $20 upon acceptance.
Reviews
Send ideas for reviews to pireviews@gc.cuny.edu.
The reviews editor will work with you to acquire review copies and
tickets to exhibitions, plays, films. You must be an impartial reviewer
and disclose past associations, if any, with the persons you are
reviewing. You will be paid $15 upon acceptance.
