G.N. Clements, "Features and Speech Sound Systems," which was presented last year at the CUNY Symposium on Phonological Theory. This paper illustrates the application of Professor Clements' ideas to consonant systems. His application to vowel systems is to be presented at the CUNY Workshop on Phonological Features.
