RISLUS FORUM 2009

The annual one-day research forum of the Research Institute for the Study of Language in Urban Society will be held at the CUNY Graduate Center on Friday, May 22, 2009, with talks beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 4:45 p.m. You can download a tentative program here, and the abstracts here.

All talks will take place in rooms 9204 & 9205 on the 9th floor of the CUNY Graduate Center (365 Fifth Avenue, between 34th and 35th St). 

Registration for the RISLUS Forum is free of charge and open to everyone, and lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to rislus@gc.cuny.edu to confirm your attendance. If you have any questions, please contact Leigh Garrison at rislus@gc.cuny.edu.

As part of the annual RISLUS Forum, we are happy to announce a special afternoon session, entitled Educating New York’s Emergent Bilinguals for a Global World. This session deals with recent research on issues related to the education of the vast bilingual population of schools in New York and nationwide.
