"An ever-shifting tableau of impressive choreography." The New York Times on Hoi Polloi's "The less we talk"

Zoetrope is a song cycle of an invented landscape, depicting the decay of boundaries between our carefully-parceled territories of home, work, and play.

Conceived by Alec Duffy, Sylvan Oswald, and Mimi Lien. Direction and music by Alec Duffy, lyrics and text by Sylvan Oswald, design by Mimi Lien, costume design by Jessica Pabst, music arrangements by Rick Burkhardt.

Hoi Polloi is a collaborative theater company formed in 2007 by director Alec Duffy.  The company creates original work that strives to explore how we, as Americans, come together and how we fall apart.  Hoi Polloi is also dedicated to presenting the work of the most imaginative of today's playwrights. Recent work includes Three Pianos, The less we talk and Dysphoria, all presented at the Ontological Theater at St. Mark's Church.

Upcoming: Three Pianos, December 2010 @ New York Theatre Workshop
