Announcements: Important Deadlines:

Add/Drop and Course: February 17, 2009 for Spring 2009. Deadline for filing add/drops, changes of level, or residency changes for the Spring 2009 semester. All changes that may affect student billing must be completed by this date. No petitions for changes will be accepted after this date.

Application for a "Leave of Absence" January 23, 2009 for Spring 2009 leave.

Deposition Dissertation: January 30, 2009 for February 1, 2009 degree. April 30, 2009 to deposit dissertation or thesis and file for a May 21, 2009 (tentative) degree.

Register for classes January 12, 2009 for Spring 2009 classes (note that continuing students who registered after this deadline had to pay a personal visit to the Registrar and pay tuition charges then including a late fee).

Dissertation Proposals: Five (5) copies of dissertation proposals are due in the Music Office by 5 pm on Thursday, October 2, 2009. They will be distributed to members of the Dissertation Proposal Committee. You will be contacted by the committee to set up your time to meet with the committee on Friday, October 17, 2009. Please note on the proposal if you are NOT in the NY area. In that case you do not have to attend the meeting and the committee will contact you as to whether the proposal is accepted.

Letters of support from your Advisor and First Reader can be sent/emailed after October 2 as long as they are received by October 15. They should be sent to me in the Music Office privers@gc.cuny.edu and to Prof. Anne Stone, chair of the dissertation committee astone@gc.cuny.edu If the letters are not received the proposal will not be considered.
