Student Handbook
PREFACE
The Handbook for Doctoral Students in Music is a compendium of the
requirements, procedures, resources, and facilities of the program. The
appendices include sample examinations, award, concert office and
dissertation guidelines. As Professor Atlas, who created this Handbook,
wrote in earlier editions, "Under no circumstances is the Handbook
intended as a substitute for dialogue and communication." If you have
any questions or uncertainty, please ask.
