(1) East-West Center Visiting Fellowships enable scholars to undertake research and publication on an annual theme while in residence at the Center. The application deadline for these fellowships is August 15.
(2) The POSCO Visiting Fellowship Program invites outstanding scholars and policy makers from North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe to engage in policy relevant research on political, security, and economic issues in Northeast Asia. The annual application deadline is December 31.
(3) The Jhamandas Watumull Fellowships enable a scholar from India and a scholar from the United States to work on important issues that will contribute to cooperation between India and the U.S.
(4) Visiting Fellowships on Islam in the Asia Pacific Region enable scholars to work on important issues dealing with the Islamic community in the Asia Pacific and its interactions with other communities and the Western world. The preferred topics involve contemporary issues and/or have links to current policy issues.
(5) The Obuchi Japan Foundation Fellowship is part of the overall EWC Obuchi Program, a joint U.S.-Japan effort to strengthen the education and research dimensions of Okinawa’s relations within the Asia-Pacific region. The Fellowship provides Japanese academic, business and media experts the opportunity to engage in cooperative projects and research on global issues with East-West Center counterparts.

This program offers an indeterminate number of fellowships with or without stipend, depending on the situation. For scholars of established reputation, and for younger scholars with a doctoral dissertation or equivalent evidence of aptitude for further study to carry out advanced research in subjects within fields of history, language, literature, philosophy, social sciences and Scottish studies. The election committee will consider the academic record and the publications of all applicants, together with the need to pursue research in Edinburgh, and their capacity to disseminate their views among a community of like-minded people. It is assumed that fellows will be in residence in Edinburgh. Deadline: December 1.

(1) Chateaubriand Scholarship. These scholarships are offered by the French Government to American Ph.D. candidates who wish to conduct research in France. Research should pertain to any discipline in the Social Sciences or Humanities. It also offers scholarships for research in science and technology to conduct research in a French laboratory. Sufficient proficiency in written and spoken French is required to be able to carry out the proposed research. Scholarships are available for periods of a maximum of 9 months with a stipend of 1,300 Euros per month. Health insurance and round trip ticket are also provided. Deadline: February 15.
(2) Scholarship in French Cinema Studies. The Society for French American Cultural Services and Educational Aid (FACSEA) is offering a Scholarship for Masters or Ph.D. candidates to study French cinema in France.
(3) Assistant in France. Spend seven months in France as a teaching assistant and get a salary.
(4) Intern in France. The French Embassy in association with the French-American Chamber of Commerce offers various types of short-term internships in France.
(5) Franco-American Commission for Educational Exchange The Commission provides grants to French and American students (graduate and post-graduate levels), young professionals, and scholars wishing to expand their educational experience during a year in the host country.

This is a multi-disciplinary program covering the areas of environmental protection, public policy, community development and resource management, which offers paid internships, and short-term positions with private industry, government and nonprofit organizations. The organization holds an annual environmental career conference. Applications for positions are available for students who have completed baccalaureate work, and to graduate students. (1) The Behavioral Sciences Post-Doctoral Fellowship develops behavioral scientists to teach the appropriate psychosocial intervention techniques used in working with people with epilepsy. Individuals who will have received their doctoral degrees in a field of the social sciences by the time the Fellowship commences, and desire additional postdoctoral research experience, may apply. Deadline: March 10.
(2) The Behavioral Sciences Student Fellowship stimulates individuals to pursue careers in epilepsy in either research or practice settings. Appropriate fields include sociology, social work, psychology, anthropology, nursing, economics, vocational rehabilitation, counseling, political science, and others relevant to epilepsy research or practice. Both graduate and undergraduate students are eligible. Deadline: March 10.
(3) The Health Sciences Student Fellowship stimulates individuals to pursue careers in epilepsy in either research or practice settings. Predoctoral training students in the Health Sciences may be accepted at any point in their schooling-following acceptance but before beginning the first year, or in the period immediately following their final year. Deadline: March 10.
(4) The Fritz E. Dreifuss International Travel Program promotes the exchange of information and expertise on epilepsy between healthcare professionals of the U.S. and foreign countries. A qualified candidate may spend from 3 to 6 weeks at a host institution. At least one party in the exchange must be from the United States. Rolling Deadline.
(5) The Research Grants Program stimulates epilepsy research by providing funding for investigators in the early stages of their careers. Seed grants are awarded to clinical investigators or basic scientists for support of biological or behavioral research which will advance the understanding, treatment, and prevention of epilepsy. Applications from established investigators (Associate Professor level or above) are ineligible. Deadline: September 3.
(6) The Predoctoral Research Training Fellowship supports pre-doctoral students with dissertation research related to epilepsy, thus strengthening their interest in establishing epilepsy research as a career direction. Graduate students pursuing a Ph.D. degree in neuroscience, physiology, pharmacology, psychology, biochemistry, genetics, nursing, or pharmacy may apply. Deadline: September 3.
(7) The Postdoctoral Research Fellowship develops academic physicians and scientists committed to research related to epilepsy. Applications are considered equally from individuals interested in acquiring experience either in basic laboratory research or in the conduct of human clinical studies. Physicians or PhD neuroscientists who desire postdoctoral research experience are eligible to apply. Deadline: September 3.

The fellowship enables two outstanding African-American doctoral candidatesto devote their full energies to the completion of the dissertation andprovides an opportunity for African-American scholars at the beginning of their academic careers to experience life at a major Catholic research university.
The fellowship is tenable for a full academic year. It carries with it a $25,000 stipend and $2000 research budget. Fellows will have access to all university facilities. Each Fellow is provided with office space, use of a personal computer, an official academic home in the department of the Fellow's specialization, and access to a faculty mentor in the fellow's discipline.
