Postdoctoral research fellowships in the School of Social Sciences of the Institute are available each year. The School invites some 15 or 18 scholars as visiting members. Each year is structured around a specific theme. The theme for 2005-2006 is Economics and Psychology. Deadline is November 15. A doctorate is required. Members are expected to pursue their own research, but seminars are available to present ongoing work to fellow Members and guests. The school encourages social science methodology with a historical and humanistic bent, and entertains applications in history, philosophy, literary criticism, literature, and language, as well as in the traditional fields of social science. This program provides support for social scientists and humanists conducting dissertation field research in all areas and regions of the world.
Standard fellowships will provide support for nine to twelve months in the field, plus travel expenses. They will rarely exceed $20,000. In some cases, the candidate may propose fewer than nine months of overseas fieldwork, but no award will be given for fewer than six months.
The fellowship must be held for a single continuous period within the eighteen months.

The International Graduate Programme (IGP) is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Stockholm University. Unlike many other graduate programmes in Sweden, students are not required to know Swedish.
Our courses are in English. Swedish and international teachers who are experts in the topic of the course hold lectures and students participate actively in seminar discussions. And unlike most graduate programmes in other countries, students accepted to the International Graduate Programme do not pay tuition fees.
The IGP offers different high-quality cross-disciplinary courses each term, but it is not a master's programme and does not give the student a master's degree.

The Dutch government is attempting to make Dutch higher education as accessible as possible to students from other countries. Higher education is heavily subsidized in the Netherlands, which means that tuition fees can be kept relatively low.
