The Foundation Center Library has a resource called FOUNDATION GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS ON LINE that provides grant descriptions for individuals of about 5,600 foundations. Entries also include foundation addresses and telephone numbers, names of trustees and staff, financial data, and sample grants. Access to this database costs $9.95 for one month.

It usually takes no longer than two or three weeks to get a loan, but in emergencies loans are available (for $100) within twenty-four hours. Loans are available to students and non-students. The maximum amount that can be borrowed is governed by what one can repay within ten months. Matriculated students (maximum for CUNY students is $5,000) can repay over a thirty month period. One must live and bank in the Greater New York area, and have signatures for the promissory note.
