El sueño como género literario

The Mexican Cultural Institute of New York & The Bildner Center present:

A conversation with Hugo Hiriart Sobre la Naturaleza de los Sueños (On Dreams)

The program will include a rational and non-Freudian analysis of our dreams

About Hugo Hiriart

Born on April 28, 1942, Mr. Hiriart is the author of four books of essays,
four novels and numerous theater plays. Some of his published works
include: La disertación sobre las telarañas; El último Dodo; El vuelo de
Apolodoro (both, lectures for children); Cuadernos de Gofa; La destrucción
de todas las cosas. His most known plays are: La Ginecomaquia, 1972;
Intimidad, 1984; Minotastas y su familia, 1981; Camille o la historia de la
escultura de Rodin a nuestros días, etc.

He is also a journalist with numerous published articles in magazines and
newspapers such as Nexos, Vuelta, La Jornada, Unomásuno, Proceso, Letras
Libres and Excélsior.

He has been the recipient of a Guggenheim Foundation fellowship, The Wilson
Center Fellowship and the Sistema Nacional de Creadores de México grant. In
1972, he was awarded the Xavier Villaurrutia prize for his acclaimed novel
Galaor. In 2001, he was appointed Executive Director of the Mexican
Cultural Institute of New York.
