Brazilian Portuguese for English Speakers

Course # 7082 - Wednesdays: 9/6 - 11/29, no class on
11/22; 6-8pm $350
This course will offer an introduction to the language. It is intended
for true beginners. Dynamic and livley class meetings and individual
participation will encourage students to learn the vocabulary, pronunciation,
and fundamentals of grammar. In this course, English and Portuguese
will be used, the Portuguese becoming increasingly dominant as the course
sessions progress.
Brazilian Portuguese: Level 2

Course# 7083 - Saturdays: 9/9 - 12/9, no classes on
10/21, 11/25 and 12/2; 10:30am - 1pm $350
Review and expand your knowledge by focusing on grammar, vocabulary
and idioms. Prerequisite: Introduction to Portuguese or equivalent.
Brazilian Portuguese: Level 3

Course# 7084 - Thursdays: 9/7 - 11/30; 6-8pm $350
For Students who have completed Level 2, or who can communicate in Portuguese
but wish to polish and expand their grammar and conversation skills.
Brazilian Portuguese for Spanish Speakers
Instructor: Claudia Vaz
Course# 7081 - Mondays: 9/11 - 12/11, no classes on
10/2 and 10/9;6-8pm $350
This course is open only to speakers of Spanish with no prior knowledge
of Portuguese. This course takes of advantage of the similarities between
Portuguese and SPanish languages and provides an accelerated introduction
to the language as it is spoken in Brazil. Dynamic and lively class
meetings encouraging individual participtation will emplhasis pronunciation,
structures and vocabulary in a fast-paced format. Classes will be conducted
almost entirely in Portuguese.

Refund Policy
When programs are cancelled by The Graduate Center, Continuing Education
may give you a credit and transfer your payment to another one of our
programs. A full refund will be made if this is not possible or desirable.
If you cancel prior to the first class: a credit for any class of equal
cost, or 100% refund minus the registration fee will be returned. If
you cancel prior to the second class (programs of more than three sessions):
a credit for any class of equal tuition of 50% minus the registration
fee. No refunds are available after the beginning of the second class.
