Dušana
Podlucká is a Ph.D. student in Developmental
Psychology Program at the Graduate Center of the City
University of New York. She is interested in the role
of learning in development; more specifically in self
and identity development studied in its socio-cultural
and spatial context. Moreover, Dusana is interested
in practicing socially relevant research and has worked
with minor and underprivileged populations. Currently
she is working with teachers and children on a participatory
project in NYC studying an after-school program as
an activity system that is expected to promote children
development. Dusana is also involved in conceptualizing
children’s place attachment and identity and
its relationship to children’s well being and
overall development. She has worked on children’s
outdoor play and recreational space and the evaluation
of community schools as well as organized workshops
on the role of play in child development for teachers
at The Child Development and Learning Center of the
Graduate Center of CUNY.
