Participatory Research, Planning and Design
•Child-Friendly Environment
Project. UNICEF, Turkey,
2000 – 2001. Participatory action research
including focus groups and workshops for the planning
and design for a Child Friendly Environment, serving
four villages. Part of the disaster recovery efforts
that took place after the August 1999 earthquake.
Done in collaboration with the MIT School of Architecture.

•Participatory Planning
of the Hunter School Schoolyard. Hands-on participatory
planning and design by using an 10' by 10' plan of
the elementary schoolyard and various design templates.
Involved students, teachers and parents. Synthesis
of the findings in the form of annotated drawings.
