You can download the Ph.D. application from the Graduate Center website here.

(You may also call 212-817-7470 to request an application, or e-mail your request to admissions@gc.cuny.edu, or pick up an application at The Graduate Center, located at 365 Fifth Avenue @ 34th Street, Room 7201, New York, New York 10016.

The Criminal Justice Doctoral Program Office does NOT have applications! Please contact the Admissions Office at The Graduate Center for an application if you cannot download it from their website.)

Please read and follow all instructions carefully.

* As a courtesy, please notify the Criminal Justice Doctoral Program Office by email to crjphd@jjay.cuny.edu of your intent to apply to the program by December 1. The Criminal Justice Doctoral Program office will acknowledge your intent by email.

This is NOT a requirement -- however, we find it valuable to get an idea of the size of the incoming applicant pool.

To be considered for admission, you must submit your application to the Graduate Center Admissions Office by January 15, 2008.

Make sure your application contains:

1. Application Form *** Don’t forget to write in your specialization on page 2, item #6!

2. Personal Statement

3. Transcripts from ALL post-secondary institutions

4. Letters of recommendation

5. Your standardized test scores (i.e. GRE, TOEFL)

Arrangements should be made to register for the tests well before the administration dates. For information, call 1-800-GRE-CALL.

Official GRE scores must be reported to the CUNY Graduate Center-ETS College Code-2113 (NOT the JOHN JAY COLLEGE CODE 2115!)

6. Request for Financial Assistance
Applicants for Fall requesting financial assistance must submit both the Application for Admission with supporting credentials and the Application for Financial Assistance no later than January 15 regardless of the specific GC admissions deadline. Please consult the Graduate Center’s web page for the latest tuition and fees.

7. A sample of your best scholarly writing (between 10-15 pages)
