Curriculum Vitae

 

Bio:

David Green received his PhD in 2006 from the University of Cambridge where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar. Before coming to CUNY in 2008, he was a Junior Research Fellow at Christ Church College, University of Oxford. He received the European Society of Criminology Young Criminologist Award in 2007 for an article published in the British Journal of Criminology. His first book, When Children Kill Children: Penal Populism and Political Culture, was published by Oxford University Press in 2008 and won the 2009 British Society of Criminology Book Prize. His work has also appeared in Crime and Justice – A Review of Research, the European Journal of Criminology, and Crime, Media, Culture. His main research interests involve the interrelationship between crime, the mass media, public opinion, and politics in a comparative perspective.
