James Levine received his Ph.D. in political science from Northwestern University in 1968, winning the Edwin S. Corwin Award given by the American Political Science Association for the best doctoral dissertation in the area of public law completed in that year. Throughout his academic career, Levine has focused on criminal justice policies and practices. The last 25 years his specialization has been the jury system, and he is one of the top 10 or 15 jury scholars in the nation. Levine has co-authored three books, singly authored another, written a monograph with several others, and recently co-edited a book on jury ethics. He has published 23 articles in refereed journals, five articles in law journals, six articles in other periodicals, and four entries in encyclopedias. |
