The CUNY Baccalaureate Program for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies

Meet Our Faculty

Over 400 faculty members across CUNY serve as mentors in the Program. Working one-on-one with our highly motivated students, they guide areas of concentration that are academically valid, challenging, and appropriate preparation for graduate study. Many faculty mentors supervise independent studies and field research, advise students on graduate school and careers, and connect them with research and professional opportunities.

Mentors are also active in research themselves, like Hunter College Physics Professor Steven Greenbaum. His continuing research into improving batteries for NASA earned him a U.S. Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering in 2002. By adapting this research, electric cars may one day drive further and longer thanks to Greenbaum and his collaboration with CUNY BA student Krista Martocci.
