The CUNY Baccalaureate Program for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies

Transfer Credit Policies

The CUNY Baccalaureate Program Office evaluates all course the student has previously taken and can accept up to a total of 90 transfer credits from regionally and New York State Board of Regents accredited colleges. No more than 60 community college credits can be accepted.

All credits earned within CUNY are recognized within the parameters stated above. Transfer credit may be granted for courses taken at other institutions in which students received a grade of at least a full C. Remedial and English-as-a-Second Language credits are not accepted towards the CUNY Baccalaureate Degree. Credit for life experience is evaluated after admission to the Program.

Credits from universities outside the United States must be evaluated by the student's CUNY college of matriculation (home college) or World Education Services prior to applying to the CUNY Baccalaureate Program. Students with international credits who are not matriculated in a CUNY college should begin the process of becoming matriculated in CUNY immediately.

Finally, when a CUNY college has exempted a student from the college's Foreign Language requirement, the CUNY Baccalaureate Program will do the same (with proper documentation); however, the Program does not recognize any other CUNY course exemptions.
