"Not a Single One" is a feature-length documentary film about
the present economic, social and political crisis in Argentina from a native's
perspective. Bringing on board the views of ordinary citizens and expert
analysts, the documentary examines the factors behind the December 2001
collapse and depicts the immediate and long-term impact on Argentine society.
The film was made by a team of 10+ in Buenos
Aires, and includes interviews with renowned Argentine analysts such
as sociologist Mora y Araujo and journalist Jorge Lanata. Pablo
Hadis is a graduate student at the University of California San Diego.
Marta
Bermudez's research deals with the broader
areas of memory,
subjectivity, and identity. Through her analysis, she tries to assess how
the crisis has impacted civil society and how through an abundance of production
and consumption of cultural expression and representation
there is a search for healing and reaffirmation of identity and subjectivity.
Marta Bermudez received her Ph.D in Comparative Hispanic Literature from
the University of Arizona. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Hunter
College, City University of New York.
