Alex Falber
Alexander Falber is a fourth year doctoral student of chemistry at City University.  He does his research at Hunter College in the field of porphyrins (synthetic dyes) that are designed to assemble in discrete, ordered, nano-scaled structures.  The purpose of this work is to contribute to a growing library of known self-assembled materials which display interesting photophysical properties.  These materials may be applied to developing solar to electrical energy conversion and molecular information storage in the near fuure. Alexander earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry from SUNY New Paltz in 2002.  Before his work in chemistry, he studied music and religion as well as taking time to travel.   His future plans include law school to enable him a future legislative role in the field in which he does research.  Alexander is a Physics fellow at Columbus High School.
