Adam Kavalier
Adam Kavalier is a second-year doctoral student in Biology at the Graduate School of the City University of New York. In 2002, he received his B.S. in Biology from the College of Charleston, Charleston, South Carolina. Adam is currently pursuing his thesis research in the phytochemistry laboratory at Lehman College, CUNY, where he and his colleagues are dedicated to the discovery of biologically active compounds that are naturally produced by plants.

During his undergraduate career Adam conducted research in a chemical ecology laboratory where he studied plant communication. In his research Adam studied the intricate relationships between plants and their surrounding organisms, focusing on the volatile chemical communication regularly occurring among different species lapsing across kingdoms.

Adam has taught undergraduate courses at Lehman College, as well as conducted research in laboratories at several institutions including the University of California, and Pennsylvania State University. Outside of school and work Adam has several other interests including fly-fishing and rock climbing. Adam has spent several summers in the western US hiking, climbing and fly-fishing from California to Washington State.

Adam Kavalier is currently a fellow as Columbus High School, as well as Pelham Prep High School.
