During a semester long project, students will interview adult citizens of their communities. They will cooperatively create a well-written document which notes the accomplishments and contributions these individuals have made and continue to make to the community. The written document will be distributed to senior centers, local archivists, local historical societies, veteran organizations, legions, local government agencies and schools. Students
formulate interview questions about being involved in the military and use
these questions to interview veterans at a luncheon honoring local

course of the year via letters, pictures, e-mail, etc. (depending upon the
school’s available technology).
Students also organize, collect, and mail “care packages”
to active soldiers from the entire student body. |
