The Graduate Center places
special emphasis on preparing graduate students for their roles as teachers.
We cooperates closely with
Hunter College's German Department, where nationally recognized strides
in developing and implementing proficiency-based teaching methods have
been made. Teaching workshops are offered regularly at the Graduate Center,
followed up with subsequent mentoring and advising of graduate student
teachers. Students will learn how to create class activities and tests
and will teach sample classes. The workshop also covers recent theories
of second-language pedagogy.
