Mission statement: The Cinema Studies Group (CSG) is a discussion group at CUNY Graduate Center for students from all departments interested in film and media. Our primary purpose is to foster an intellectual and social community that encourages interaction across disciplines between scholars. In addition, we aim to promote professional development for students. History: CSG was founded in 2007 by Film Studies Certificate Program student representatives Elizabeth Alsop and Kelley Kawano. Co-chairs (2007-8, 2008-9): Elizabeth Alsop & Kelley Kawano| Elizabeth is in the Comparative Literature doctoral program. She teaches at Queens College and Hunter College. | Kelley is in the English doctoral program. She teaches at Queens College. |
