Dr. Casanova is Professor of Language and Literature, Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature, at Baruch College of the City University of New York. Her fields of interest are Spanish American Literature, Literature of the Caribbean, Latin American Women Studies, Puerto Rican Narrative and Poetry. She is author of the books La charca de Manuel Zeno Gandía: temas y estilo (Rio Piedras, P.R.: Editorial Plaza Mayor, 1992) and Etica del silencio (Madrid, 1998).
