![]() Ellen S. Engelson Ph.D. 1977
Dr. Engelson-Marson has had more than 30 years experience as an administrator and educator on the college level. At John Jay College of the City University of New York, where she was a faculty member from 1970-1999, she rose to the level of Professor of Spanish Language and Literature, having started her career there as an Instructor. In addition, from 1997-1999, she was Chair of Women's Studies. Author of several books, she also served as Chair of the Academic Review Committee, was a member of the Policy and Budget Committee, the Faculty Senate, and served as the language coordinator for the joint CUNY/New York Police Department pilot project in cultural and linguistic awareness training. In December 2000 she was named Executive Director of Hadassah. where she was instrumental in setting up the administration of the newly established Hadassah Foundation, secured a role for Hadassah on the U.S. Committee of the United Nations International Year of Volunteers-2001, and has worked internally to establish extensive management systems. Dr. Engelson-Marson continues to teach as an Adjunct Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. [text source, photo: Hadassah.org] |
