![]() Jesse Fernández Ph.D. 1977
Dr. Fernandez is a distinguished teaching professor of the Humanities and Languages Department at the State University of New York College at Old Westbury (OldWestbury, NY). In April of 2002 he was elected vice president of the National Chapter of Circulo De Cultura Panamericano, a Spanish-language cultural and literary association founded in 1963, whose mission is to provide a forum where scholars and intellectuals from both the Spanish-speaking world and the growing communities in the United States can meet and discuss topics in the arts, culture, and literature. Circulo also supports the creative work of promising Hispanic/Latino writers by sponsoring international competitions and publishing their work in the literary journal Revista de Cultura, which was also founded by Circulo. He is author of El poema en prosa en Hispanoamerica : del modernismo a la vanguardia : estudio critico y antologia (Madrid : Hiperion, 1994). [photo: Centro Cultural Cubano de Nueva York.] |
