Dr. McCormick holds a Ph.D. in Psychology as well as a doctorate in Spanish Literature. A Professor in the Department of Psychology at Montclair State College, Upper Montclair, he is Director of the Child/Adolescent Clinical Program and Director of the Spanish/English Bilingual Clinical Program, a Clinical Psychology Concentration for Spanish-English Bilingual Psychologists.

A faculty member of Montclair State College since 1972, he has taught language and literature courses in the Spanish/Italian department as well as clinical and developmental courses in the psychology department. He has served on numerous committes, including the President's Task Force on Outcomes Assesment. He has been a member of the Institute for Critical thinking and special assistant to the dean of the School of Humanities and Social Studies.
