IJMES is a peer-reviewed academic journal published quarterly by CUP on behalf of the Middle East Studies Association (MESA), a private, non-profit, non-political learned society that brings together scholars, educators, and those interested in the study of the region from all over the world. MESA membership includes a subscription to IJMES.
The editor of IJMES is Beth Baron, professor of history at the Graduate Center and City College, City University of New York and co-director of the Middle East and Middle Eastern American Center at the Graduate Center.
