International Journal of Middle East Studies

The IJMES editorial office moves location every five years based on the academic home of the editor. The current IJMES editor is Beth Baron, professor of history at the Graduate Center and City College, City University of New York and co-director of the Middle East and Middle Eastern American Center at the CUNY Graduate Center. During her tenure (July 2009-June 2014), the IJMES editorial office resides at the Graduate Center.

The current associate editor of IJMES is Sara Pursley and the assistant book review editor is Jeffrey Culang.

IJMES is a peer-reviewed academic journal published quarterly by Cambridge University Press on behalf of the Middle East Studies Association (MESA), a private, non-profit, non-political learned society that brings together scholars, educators and those interested in the study of the region from all over the world. MESA membership includes a subscription to IJMES, which has a worldwide circulation of 3,700.
