Information Technology - Mission Statement

To Meet This Mission We Will:
  • Provide support for the Graduate Center's IT infrastructure.
    This includes:
    1 - Network connectivity (servers, routers, switches, etc.).
    2 - Computer workstations (desktop computers and peripherals).
    3 - Software (academic, research, and administrative applications).
    4 - Telecommunications (telephones, voicemail, and faxing).
    5 - Printing and copying services.
    6 - Electronic messages and web services (email, student and faculty web sites, etc.).
  • Operate the Graduate Center Helpdesk - a single point of contact and responsibility for rapid closure of user's information technology problems.
  • Facilitate the storage, security and integrity of electronic data while ensuring appropriate access.
  • Promote new uses of technology within the institution through the support of innovative applications and training. Provide support and management for the college's computer laboratories, kiosks, and public workstations. Support business and application software, administer institutional data, and deliver these data to the user. community. Also provide support for continuous improvement in application development, data management tools and methods.Provide remote access to university resources (Citrix, VPN, WFS, and library databases).
