The IT Audio-Visual Services Department provides audio- and video-based resources and services for classes and events throughout The Graduate Center. It is responsible for classroom, seminar room, and conference room AV equipment; for overseeing and operating the equipment in the public assembly spaces (including the Proshansky Auditorium, the Recital Hall, the Segal Theatre, and the concourse level and ninth floor meeting rooms); and for scheduling and operating the videoconference room on the C-level. Equipment resources include data projectors, DVD and VCR players, document cameras, digital cameras, TVs, portable PA and music systems, and related items; equipment available for student checkout includes Marantz tape recorders, audio transcribers, digital still cameras, digital video cameras, (Digital 8 format), conventional 35mm still cameras and tripods (call x-7300 or come to room 9116 for consultations). The department works closely with the academic programs, research centers and institutes, CUNY-TV, administrative offices, and in particular with faculty and students regarding the use of audio-visual equipment for research projects.
