The Teaching Forum is a series of colloquia/workshops dealing with teaching on the college level and is open to all students enrolled in the doctoral programs in Music (the Teaching Forum is not open to the general public). The Forum is envisaged as an informal seminar: brief presentations by faculty and students, lots of discussion, exchange of ideas. There will be five meetings. Each will be devoted to the problems of teaching one of the commonly taught disciplines, and each will be convened by a different pair of faculty. The Forum is intended for all students who are in the early years of teaching or who plan to teach, it is open only to students in the Music Department of the Graduate Center, CUNY. Since many academic positions demand experience in a wide range of teaching areas, we urge all students to attend all the sessions. Dates will be announced shortly.
