Professional Development Series (PDS)
The Professional Development Series is a variety of informative workshops, lectures, and panel discussions aimed at providing the skills that you need to successfully complete your doctoral degree and enter the work force.
Sample workshops include:
- Preparing a Graduate School Business Plan
- Writing and Publishing in your Discipline
- Public Speaking and Presentation Skills
- Basic of Teaching Workshops
- Writing the Dissertation and much more…
Suggestions for workshops are welcome and should be sent to gradservices@gc.cuny.edu
The Roundtable luncheons are held once a month, usually the second Friday of the month, each semester. They are meant to provide an informal setting where students can network and interact with their peers. Depending on interest, these luncheons can also provide students with a forum to present their research to students and faculty and to practice job talks for their pending job search.
OEODP provides a confidential setting in which students may explore concerns of a personal, academic, or career-related nature. If you are experiencing academic difficulties, OEODP’s academic counseling can help you figure out what may be impeding your academic progress, and assist you in taking steps to address the problem(s) and make the appropriate referrals.
