Call for Papers

 Doing Justice to the Social

The graduate students of the Philosophy Program at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York invite philosophy graduate students to submit papers to be considered for presentation at our 15th annual graduate student conference on April 19-21, 2012.  

Professor Sally Haslanger (MIT) will give a series of three keynote lectures entitled “Doing Justice to the Social” with Graduate Center faculty commentators Linda Alcoff, John Greenwood and Jesse Prinz. Submissions relating to epistemology, ethics, metaphysics, philosophy of language, and social and political philosophy are strongly encouraged.

Submission Guidelines: 

Please send the following to   as two separate documents in .doc or .pdf format:

(1) A cover letter containing the following information: author’s name, title of paper, institutional affiliation, contact information, word count, abstract and area of philosophy.

(2) The paper itself (with no identifying information).  Papers should be suitable for a 40-minute presentation. Papers are to be 3,000-4,000 words.

The deadline for submitting papers is January 15, 2012
