The doctoral certificate program in Interactive Technology and Pedagogy (ITP) is based in the Office of the Vice President, who founded the program five years ago and serves as its coordinator; Rosa Rivera is its Assistant Program Officer. The nine-credit interdisciplinary certificate provides students enrolled in any of the GC’s doctoral programs with a critical introduction to the constellation of science, technology, and everyday life, as well as an orientation to thinking critically about the use of IT in the classroom. The program explores the pedagogical implications of interactive technology while advancing students’ skills as creators and users of technology-based educational tools and resources. The ITP program draws on the discipline-based expertise of many doctoral faculty members and thereby builds a collective conversation about the broad implications of emerging educational technology.
