The following are course descriptions of the classes offered in German at the Language Reading Program.

German for Reading Knowledge - Level One
This intensive introduction to German is designed to develop reading comprehension skills
for students and professionals in fields which require a reading knowledge of German.
Emphasis will be on grammar, word
order, and translation. There will be no emphasis on conversation and no aural-oral methods will be used.
The course content is based on individual students' disciplines.
German for Reading Knowledge - Level Two
A continuation of German for Reading Knowledge I, with more difficult readings.
German for Reading Knowledge - Levels One and Two for Art History Students Only
A ten-week course coverin both German for Reading Knowledge Level One and Level Two. The first six weeks are open to students in all disciplines, however, during the remaing four weeks the reading will be exclusively for art history students. Tuition is $504 for students currently matriculated in a degree bearing program of CUNY, $917 for anyone else. Class size islimited and enrollment is ona first-come, first-serve basis.
